Have you ever asked your pet a question and then sat there waiting for an answer? Maybe you’ve looked at your dog and asked, “Are you happy?” or wondered whether your cat actually likes their new food. You wait, they stare back at you, and you’re thinking, “Come on! Give me something!”

Here’s where Animal Communication becomes really interesting. Your animal may already be answering you. You just might be waiting for the answer to arrive in the wrong way.

Animal Communication Doesn’t Always Sound Like a Voice

One of the things I’ve taught for years is that we all receive information differently. When I communicate with an animal, I don’t necessarily hear a little voice inside my head saying, “Hello Simonne. I’d like to discuss today’s dinner options.” Wouldn’t that make life easy!

Information can come through as a thought, feeling, emotion, image, physical sensation or simply a sense of knowing something. Sometimes it’s incredibly subtle. You might suddenly think of something that seems completely random, see an image in your mind or experience a feeling that wasn’t there a moment earlier.

The problem is that we’re usually waiting for something much more dramatic. When that doesn’t happen, our logical brain quickly jumps in with, “I’m making this up.”

How Do You Naturally Receive Information?

Think about how you operate in everyday life. When someone tells you a story, do you immediately picture what’s happening? Perhaps you feel the emotion behind what they’re telling you. Maybe words or phrases pop into your mind, or you’re someone who simply knows when something feels right or wrong without being able to explain why.

Understanding how you naturally receive information is an important part of learning Animal Communication. Rather than trying to force yourself to hear, see or feel something in a particular way, you begin recognising the way information naturally arrives for you.

This is something I work with when teaching Animal Communication because we’re all different. The way I receive information may not be exactly the same as the way you receive it, and that’s perfectly okay.

Stop Looking for the Fireworks

I think this is where people can make Animal Communication much harder than it needs to be. They’re expecting fireworks, flashing lights and a booming voice from the heavens confirming that they’ve successfully connected with their dog!

Meanwhile, their animal sends a simple image of their water bowl and they’re busy dismissing it as, “That’s just my imagination.”

Maybe it is. But what if it isn’t?

When you’re starting out, try not to analyse everything immediately. Notice it first. What thought popped into your mind? What did you suddenly feel? Did you see an image? Did your body respond somehow? Write it down before your logical brain arrives with its clipboard and starts questioning everything!

Over time, you start becoming more familiar with what’s you and what feels different. That’s part of developing your Animal Communication skills.

This Is Why Grounding Matters

Before I communicate with an animal, being present and grounded is really important. If your mind is racing through emails, dinner, tomorrow’s appointments, the washing you forgot to put out and the seventeen other things you’re trying to remember, it’s much harder to notice subtle information.

Animal Communication isn’t necessarily about trying harder. Sometimes it’s about becoming quieter.

This is why grounding is one of the first steps in my Animal Communication Method. When we slow down and become present, we create space to notice what’s already happening between ourselves and our animals.

Your Animal Is Communicating All the Time

Animal Communication isn’t something that suddenly switches on when you decide to have a conversation. Your animal is already communicating through their behaviour, energy, body language, emotions and the information they’re sending you.

Learning Animal Communication helps you become more aware of that conversation and begin trusting what you’re receiving.

And the more you practise, the more familiar your own way of receiving information becomes.

Want to Go Deeper With Your Pet?

Sometimes you know your animal is trying to tell you something, but you can’t quite put the pieces together. Perhaps their behaviour has changed, something feels different or you simply want to understand them on a deeper level.

That’s where having an Animal Communication session can help us explore what’s happening from their perspective. We can look at what they’re feeling, their behaviour, changes within their world, what they enjoy, what may be bothering them and, importantly, what they would like you to understand.

Because your animal doesn’t suddenly start communicating when an Animal Communicator arrives.

They’ve been communicating with you all along.

Sometimes we simply need to learn how to listen differently.

And once you start recognising your way of receiving?

You may discover your animal has been much chattier than you realised!

Try This Simple Animal Communication Exercise

Choose a time when you and your pet are both relaxed and there’s nothing you need to rush off and do.

Sit quietly for a moment, put your feet on the floor and take three slow breaths. Don’t try too hard to make anything happen. Just become present.

Now look at your pet, or use a photo if they’re not with you, and think about how much you love them. Then ask one very simple question:

“Do you know how much I love you? ” or  “Are you happy today?”

And then… stop.

Don’t keep asking. Don’t start searching for an answer. Give them a moment.

Notice the very first thing that comes to you. It might be a word, an image, a feeling, a physical sensation, a memory or something completely random.

Write it down before you analyse it.

That’s the important part!

Your logical mind will probably arrive two seconds later saying, “Well, obviously I thought that because…”

Let it chatter away. For this exercise, you’re simply practising receiving without immediately judging what you receive.

Try it for just two or three minutes. That’s enough.

You don’t need fireworks, a booming voice or your dog suddenly speaking fluent English.

You’re simply learning to become quieter, notice what comes through and recognise how you naturally receive information.

And that’s where Animal Communication begins.
